The Counselor Retreat was amazing! This retreat is for those campers who are now counselors…and it’s a weekend I look forward to every year! The kids are so much fun and more than anything, I enjoy just watching them hang out. This year, 19 camper-turned-counselors and 6 of us “adults” (can you really call us adults if we enjoy this as much as the kids?) traveled to Camp Evergreen in Clarkesville, GA for a weekend retreat April 9-11. The theme for the retreat was “Running the Race” from Hebrews 12:1-3 and we had sessions talking about overcoming obstacles and hearing God. When we weren’t having sessions and singing Camp Hope songs, we hiked to a waterfall (where some of the boys were brave enough to jump in the FREEZING water), canoed, made smores over a campfire, and did the Blob. Included are some pictures below:

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” – Hebrews 12:1-3
