Camp Hope

Started in 2000 with 13 campers, Camp Hope is a six-day, free, overnight camp that gives prisoners’ children who live in the metro-Atlanta area a week filled with love, activities, and fellowship.

Camp Hope consists of two camps that occur simultaneously – Cornerstone and the Leadership Training Academy (LTA). Campers enter Camp Hope in Cornerstone with consists of rising fourth, fifth and sixth graders. We teach our campers how to build good relationships and fundamental life skills all built on Biblical principles. LTA is by invitation only for those campers who successfully complete Cornerstone and consists of rising seventh, eighth and ninth graders. LTA builds on the foundation set forth in Cornerstone. Through leadership classes and team building activities, campers are encouraged to be servant leaders. When campers graduate from LTA, they are eligible to serve as teen counselors to Cornerstone campers. In the organization’s 16 years, Camp Hope has served more than 500 campers.

Best time of my life. – Moses

Thanks for sending me to the best place on earth. – Divante

Thank you for blessing me with a family. – Anonymous

Camp Hope could not exist without our counselors and volunteers! Each summer, Camp Hope needs teens, college students and adults who are willing to share the love of Christ with our campers and serve as counselors for the week. We do ask counselors to pay a fee to cover their lodging and food for the week. This is a great local mission for both families and individuals.
