Alumni Stories – Malique

March 20, 2018

“Since the fifth grade I have been a part of Kidz2Leaders and Camp Hope taking all opportunities the programs have offered me. Since graduating Camp Hope’s Leadership Training Academy I have gotten the opportunity to become an intern at Ernst and Young and Jackson Healthcare while receiving the Elgar Scholarship. I even have served two years on Camp Hope’s Summer Staff and many other years I gave back as a counselor and cabin leader.  Since starting my own graphic design business at 16 I have graduated high school, attended Georgia State University and have successfully entered into the BFA graphic design program (which only 20 out of 60 students were accepted into). All along my pathway Kidz2Leaders and Camp Hope has been there to help me realize my full potential. Though I may not have had a father growing up I found instead a loving supportive family that truly provides me with all the resources I could possibly ask for. Everything from my first laptop to a trip to New York to just the professional skills I have learned, I couldn’t possibly come up with the words to say how grateful I am to everyone that supports Kidz2Leaders and Camp Hope. I am forever prideful that they helped make me not another statistic but a leader and successful young man. In the future I would like to explore ways in how to apply my skills to help the kids who were just like me.

Thank You,
Malique”

Alumni Stories – Courtney

March 20, 2018

“My name is Courtney and I first attended camp when I was in the fifth grade. I have the attended Camp Hope for the past eleven years, and have had the opportunity to serve on the Camp Hope staff as the Cornerstone and Leadership girls’ coordinator for the past three years. I am currently a student at Kennesaw State University majoring in Public Health Education where I plan to graduate Spring 2019. I also serve my country as a member of the United States Army, and plan to continue my career as a soldier post graduation as an officer.

Kidz2leaders and Camp Hope have truly been a family to me as a little girl in cornerstone to now as I grow into adulthood. I am truly blessed. I could never put into words how grateful I am to be able to give back to such a great organization, and the people who help make it possible.”

Alumni Stories – Dominique

March 20, 2018

“My name is Dominique and I first attended camp when I was in third grade. I have been fortunate enough to spend the past fifteen summers attending Camp Hope in various roles. For the last four years, I have had the privilege to work in the kidz2leaders office as a program coordinator. Currently, I am a student at Georgia Gwinnett College majoring in accounting with plans to graduate in December 2018. My future aspirations include becoming a forensic accountant.

Camp Hope and kidz2leaders has truly been a blessing in my life. I have had great opportunities through the organization from business trips, retreats, internships, scholarships, and much more! I have learned so much and am glad I can serve at camp. Words cannot express how grateful I am for kidz2leaders and the people who have helped guide me along the way.”

Alumni Stories – Amber

March 20, 2018

“My name is Amber and I started Camp Hope as a fifth grade student many years ago. Due to my hectic work schedule and time consuming college career I have missed a few years of camp. Kidz2Leaders, Inc. has been incredible to me throughout my college years and had a major impact on who I am today. I will graduate The Unsinkable Albany State University with a Bachelors of Marketing degree December 9, 2017!

I am currently a Walmart associate (cashier) and have become eligible for promotion to Assistant Manager. I do not plan to stop there because I have plans on working for Walmart at the corporate level as a Market Manager. “For I know the plans I have for you… plans to give you hope and future.” Jeremiah 29:11 is a scripture that will always be dear to my heart because it taught me to never give up knowing that better will always come. Allowing God to lead my life has got me where I am. Thank you Camp Hope!”

Brawl for a Cause – February 17, 2018

March 20, 2018

Shout out to….
Eddie Capel & Brawl for a Cause!
We are overwhelmed by the generosity, determination, and commitment of Eddie Capel as he trained and raised awareness and funding for Camp Hope at February’s Brawl for a Cause event. Eddie generated more than $120,000 for our organization, and he also shared the Camp Hope story on Fox5, in the AJC and Marietta Daily Journal, in the East Cobber, and more. A very big Camp Hope Thank You to Eddie and his team for furthering our mission to end generational incarceration in such a significant and exciting way.

Take a look at the great coverage Eddie received on our behalf!

This throwback Thursday we're highlighting a favor This throwback Thursday we're highlighting a favorite camper past time: Gaga Ball!

The rules of Gaga ball are a lot like dodgeball, but you play in a Gaga pit, and the winner is the last one standing. We're looking forward to cheering on some exciting matches this summer!

Have you heard about TLC? Teen Leadership Camp i Have you heard about TLC?

Teen Leadership Camp is our second session of Camp Hope, designed for 13–18 year olds. This year we're adding a special leadership track specifically for our most senior campers! This new camp experience will take the place of our previous C2C program. We asked our interns for input about what they'd love to see incorporated, and are so excited to roll it out this summer!

Let's talk about medical volunteers! Every year w Let's talk about medical volunteers!

Every year we rely on a team of medical professionals and registered nurses to help us ensure everyone has a safe and healthy camp experience. Medical volunteers administer any prescription medications brought to camp by campers and volunteers, and respond to medical needs.

Medical volunteers must be licensed in the state of Georgia and are offered flexible scheduling, serving at camp in 48 hour shifts.

Over the next couple weeks, we'll be highlighting Over the next couple weeks, we'll be highlighting ways to volunteer at Camp Hope...starting with Cabin Counselors!

Cabin Counselors play a pivotal role at camp, setting the tone and serving as mentors. Cabin Counselors stay in the cabins with campers, facilitate cabin devotional times, and join campers for meals and activities.

We aim for a one-to-one ratio of volunteers to campers, and this year we have more kids coming to camp than ever before! We are seeking Christ-centered adults and mature teens to serve in this crucial way. Check the link in our profile to sign up today.
