“And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” – John 8:32
When students have been with us for more than 10 years of progressive programming as a camper, Camper2Counselor, and Interns4Tomorrow participant, it’s like we are family. Kidz2Leaders does not end after high school graduation, but instead evolves into our Alumni Community.
As a Kidz2Leaders Alumni, you are invited to participate in reunions during the year through baseball games, dinners, ice skating, and more – all free of charge. We also provide continued individual support for any alumni to help navigate through school and the career world. We hope to stay further connected through annual alumni surveys to learn how we can make our programs better and keep up-to-date on alumni progress.
As of today, more than 600 children have been directly served by Kidz2Leaders since it began in 1999. Our programs continue to serve more than 300 children and family members a year. Statistically, children of inmates are three times more likely to become justice involved than their peers, but out of more than 100 young adults who have completed at least seven years of our programming, only one has gone to prison. We are proud of our alumni community for continuing to break the cycle of generational incarceration and live free and meaningful lives.
“I have been fortunate enough to spend the past 15 summers attending Camp Hope in various roles. For the last four years, I have had the privilege to work in the Kidz2Leaders office as a program coordinator. Words cannot express how grateful I am for Kidz2Leaders and the people who have helped guide me along the way.” – Current Alumnus and Employee
